Gulf Coast Recovery Effort

Gulf Coast Recovery Effort

As part of the National Association of REALTORS®’ (NAR) continuing Gulf Coast Recovery effort, a bold new partnership with Habitat for Humanity, International’s “Operation Home Delivery” effort is being announced. NAR will launch an ambitious project that aligns the organizations’ respective missions and vision toward rebuilding the hurricane-affected regions in the Gulf Coast area by building homes for those who tragically lost them in Hurricane Katrina.

Thanks to contributions from thousands of REALTORS® around the country, the REALTORS® Relief Foundation has already contributed over $4.6 million towards this effort. REALTOR® associations together contributed over $2.8 million to the fund. However, there are still thousands of people suffering over the losses they incurred from Hurricane Katrina. In conjunction with Habitat, NAR President Thomas M. Stevens is challenging each state REALTOR® association to raise $70,000 to support a new home in the Gulf Region. The REALTORS® Relief Foundation will commit $5,000 to each state and territory’s home. Stay tuned for more details.
