PREF STUDENT GRANT-IN-AID PROGRAM
Two grants of $1000 are available annually to eligible applicants with an interest in pursuing a career in the real estate brokerage business. The grant may be applied to an Associate or Bachelor degree in a real estate related program at a Pennsylvania university or college.
The grant will be sent directly to the college or university. The college or university must be accredited by the appropriate accrediting bodies and shall confer an academic degree in a real estate related program.
Eligibility:
Any interested candidate may apply. Preference will be given to REALTORS® in good standing; their children and spouses; and their employees. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a two or four-year real estate-related program at a Pennsylvania university or college, or document their intent to enroll in such a program within one year of the application deadline.
How to apply:
Grant applications will be submitted directly to PREF. This year's application deadline is March 15, 2010. The recipient(s) will be announced following the Spring meeting of the PREF Board of Directors.
A complete application must include the following items:
1. Grant-in-Aid Application Form completed and signed by the applicant.
2. Letter of reference from the REALTOR® who is nominating the candidate.
3. Letter/statement from the school confirming acceptance to a real estate-related program.
4. A copy of applicant’s most recent academic transcript.
