PREF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Background Information:
PREF annually presents scholarships to deserving REALTORS® to help them continue their education and professional development. Scholarships can be used for tuition to any REALTOR® designation or SREC-approved broker course, and reimbursement of lodging & travel expenses (upon submission of hotel bill or receipts) up to a maximum scholarship amount of $500.
The following courses will be eligible for scholarship funds: ABR, ABRM, ALC, CCIM, CIPS, CPM, CRB, CRS, CRE, GAA, Green, GRI, PMN, RAA, SIOR and SRES. The following REALTOR® certification programs are also eligible: At Home with Diversity, e-PRO, RSPS and TRC. In addition, courses approved by the State Real Estate Commission for broker credit are eligible.
Eligibility:
Applicants must currently be a PA REALTOR® member and have held REALTOR® membership for at least two years. The scholarship applies to courses taken between January 1 and December 31 of the upcoming calendar year. Applicants who have previously received a PREF Scholarship are ineligible for additional PREF Scholarships.
Application Procedure:
Applications must be submitted directly to PREF. Application deadline for 2011 scholarships is July 31, 2010. Applicants will be notified of their award status within one week of the Fall meeting of the PREF Board of Directors.
A complete application must include the following items:
- Scholarship Application form completed and signed by the applicant, and verified by the applicant's local Association Executive (or Staff Specialist).
- Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s broker/manager.
