PREF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Background Information:

PREF annually presents up to 20 scholarships to deserving REALTORS® to help them continue their education and professional development. Scholarships can be used for tuition to any REALTOR® designation or broker course offered by a REALTOR® association or their school, and reimbursement of lodging & travel expenses (upon submission of hotel bill or receipts) up to a maximum scholarship amount of $500. Scholarships must be used within one calendar year of the presentation date.

The following courses will be eligible for scholarship funds: ABR, ABRM, ALC, CCIM, CIPS, CPM, CRB, CRE, CRS, e-PRO, GAA, GRI, LTG, One America, RAA, REPA, RSPS, SIOR and SRES. In addition, broker courses approved by the State Real Estate Commission will be eligible (applicant must provide documentation of course approval by the Commission at the time of request of scholarship funds.)

Eligibility:

Applicants must currently be a REALTOR® member, and have held REALTOR® membership for at least two years. The scholarship applies to courses taken after the scholarship has been awarded to the REALTOR®. Applicants who have previously received a PREF Scholarship are ineligible for additional PREF Scholarships.

Application Procedure:

Scholarship applications must be submitted directly to PREF. Application deadline for the current year’s program is July 31. Awards will be announced after the Autumn PREF meeting.

A complete application must include the following items:

1. REALTORS® Scholarship Application form completed and signed by the applicant.

2. Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s broker/manager.

3. Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s local Association Executive or President.
