Fundraising Tips
- Drinking for Diamonds
- As a fundraiser or reward. During any RPAC fundraising opportunity simply purchase several bottles of champagne and secure one diamond and ten look-a-like cubic zirconium stones. In each glass of champagne, place one stone. Only the event coordinator will know which glass holds the actual diamond. Proceed to offer the glasses of champagne to guests for $99 each. Once the glasses of champagne have been purchased, ask that the guests bring their “diamonds” to the expert (a member or jeweler with an inspection glass) to determine the winner of the real stone.
- Wine Tasting Auction
- Members donate two bottles of their favorite wine. One is for tasting and the other is to be auctioned off. Have a reception in which your guests mingle around the room tasting wine from either around the stage or region or from around the country. Then once everyone has had the chance to taste each wine, begin auctioning off each bottle of wine. You can even have a themed wine tasting action such as Wines from France, Wines from Italy, etc.
- RPAC “Night at the Movies”
- The event should begin with cocktails, hors d’oeuvre and a social hour in the theater’s restaurant and lounge. The cocktail hour will be proceeded by the highlight of the event, a private showing. Members and their guests take their seats in a private theater reserved for REALTORSâ and watch a new release. Local real estate companies and affiliate companies could be asked to sponsor the event to cover the event. All ticket revenue collected through ticket sales support RPAC.
- RPAC Jail and Bail
- The Jail and Bail event is humorous, fun and effective at raising money. Your fellow members, agents, sales managers, and brokers will selectively become "prisoners." Each prisoner's bail is set based on what the Local RPAC Committee believes the prisoner is capable of raising. The prisoner is entitled to use a phone while in jail and can use it to raise funds for their bail. Of course, there is the option to pay more to keep people imprisoned! Click here for more details.
- RPAC Art Walk
- The RPAC committee should work with several local galleries to host an after-hours viewing of the galleries. Sponsors cover the cost of food and beverages at each location, members contribute at least $25 to attend the event and it is limited to 75 participants.
- Fifties Dance
- Select a location for this event that will accommodate a dance floor, band or disc jockey, a seating area and a refreshment area. Encourage members and guests to come in costumes of the day, poodle skirts, bobbysocks, pedal pushers, leather jackets, etc. Give awards or prizes for the most creative costumes and competitions such as a twist contest, a stroll contest, a lip sync contest, a limbo contest and a hula-hoop contest.
- RPAC Karaoke Night
- The association office donates the event space. Karaoke performances will be judged for best singer and performance by audience participation. Master of Ceremonies works the crowd along with the RPAC Chairman.
- Auction
- Donate a tangible item worth $50-100 in value to be auctioned to the highest bidder via either live or “silent” proceedings. Include food, beverages, and a DJ to keep members happy. Click here for more information.
- Phone Bank
- An RPAC phone bank involves using local board members to call other board members to solicit RPAC contributions and pledges. Phone banks are organized activity conducted out of a central location during a restricted time period. To spur on phone bank participants, an Association can offer prizes for the highest amount of contributions and most number of contributors in the restricted time period.
- REALTORSâ Trivia Night
- Teams of eight answer 100 trivia questions ($15 per person or $120 per team). The team with the best score wins great prizes. Don’t forget to include pizza, soft drinks, and beverages.
- Fee for Cell Phones
- If your cell phone goes off during a meeting, pay $99 to RPAC.
