FACT SHEET

The Pennsylvania association was chartered in 1920 as the Pennsylvania Real Estate Association.

In 1943, the association moved its headquarters to Harrisburg and in 1974, changed its name to the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®.

PAR is one of the largest trade/professional associations in Pennsylvania, with 34,500-members and serves as the “voice for real estate” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

A member organization of the National Association of REALTORS®, PAR is comprised of residential and commercial REALTORS® who subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The REALTOR® designation is a sign of credibility, professionalism and integrity to both clients and colleagues.

PAR seeks to maintain professionalism and high standards of practice in the field of real estate, promotes the economic and educational advantages of members and supports legislation concerning real private property rights.

PAR exists to serve REALTORS® so they can better serve consumers and is dedicated to providing members with the programs, products and services they need to be successful.
