Pennsylvania law provides "license reciprocity" for real estate licensees in order to facilitate business transactions across state lines.
The law, which was proposed by PAR and came into effect February 28, 2004, provides the State Real Estate Commission the authority to enter into reciprocal agreements with other states. Pennsylvania licensees may not practice in another state without a reciprocal license until such time as the Commission signs an agreement with that state. Under the Act, the Commission is required to publish on its website states with which Pennsylvania has reciprocal agreements.
