  • Real estate licensees are required to complete 14 hours of continuing education (CE) credit by May 31 of every even-numbered year.
  • Brand new real estate licensees are required to take 14 hours of CE in specific, mandatory, Commission-approved courses during their first renewal cycle. Most continuing education classes do not meet the criteria for new licensee eduction; be sure to check with your school or local association to be sure you’re taking the right course(s).
  • Realtor® members are required to complete a minimum of 3 hours of approved Code of Ethics training every four years (2016, 2020, etc.). Free, online Code of Ethics training is available through the National Association of Realtors®, or you can take other courses locally. Some local associations have additional ethics education requirements; check with your local association for more information.
  • Appraisers must complete 28 hours of continuing professional education by June 30 of every odd-numbered year.

As of 2012, PAR no longer offers continuing education or designation classes. If you’ve already earned the GRI designation there are no annual dues or renewal fees — you will retain your GRI status for as long as you remain an active Realtor® member.

Check out our Course Calendar for courses offered across the state, or check with your local association for local educational opportunities.

Pennsylvania CRS

Logo-CRSMembers of the Council of Residential Specialists are eligible for membership in local CRS networks like ours! This enhances the advantages of your Council membership with additional networking, referral and educational opportunities in your specific market area.

CRS Chapters began to be chartered in the late 1970s with the following objectives:

  • Building CRS membership growth and satisfaction
  • Promoting CRS learning opportunities
  • Promoting CRS Designation awareness and use
  • Building CRS networking and referral benefits

Today, our Chapter has expanded this purpose. We are able to offer more programs and services with the generous support from our volunteer members. Our Chapter is independently managed by its members, and offer a wide variety of programs and benefits specifically developed to meet the unique needs of Council members in our area. These include locally hosted social functions with great networking opportunities, newsletters, enhanced referral opportunities in our area, community service projects and local promotion of the CRS Designation.

If you should have any questions or require additional information, contact our network for more information. We welcome the opportunity to assist you and look forward to having you as a member!
